IFLR1000 2013 Recommends Vasil Kisil & Partners in Banking & Finance and M&A

According to the 23th Edition of the IFLR1000 - The Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms – Vasil Kisil & Partners are recommended as one of the top list firms practicing Banking & Finance and M&A in Ukraine.

The Guide mentions the firm, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2012, as having a well regarded banking and finance group. Peers respect Denis Lysenko, who made partner in 2006 and now heads both the banking and finance, and M&A practices. "Since Lysenko took over they have been doing well," notes one competitor. "Denis Lysenko is a good lawyer. We've been impressed when we worked with him," notes another. Partner Yulia Kyrpa also elicits praise from rivals who say "she is professional" and "knows the law".

Head of Vasil Kisil & Partners M&A, Denis Lysenko, has also sustainably developed the firm's transactional M&A practice, according to peers who rate him highly. VKP's strong portfolio of work supports competitors’ observations, placing the firm among the more active ones in Ukraine.

VKP team took on two notable deals in the media sector last year; in one partner Oleksiy Filatov acted for the Ukrainian Media Holding Group on its acquisition of the KP Media Group. The same partner also acted for the same client on a joint venture between it and TKR Ukraine/SCM Holding in regard to an IT venture.

Elsewhere Denis Lysenko acted for Danone Group on two transactions including its buy out of minority stakes in Galakton Public and the Kremenchug Milk Plant from Kinto. Mr. Lysenko also advised the group on the proposed acquisition of two other Ukrainian dairy producers.

In the financial services sector Mr. Lysenko was again involved advising Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken on both the sale of its Ukrainian subsidiary and the acquisition of Accept Bank for $25 million.
